I was happy when they got rid of +I, and now someone has to do this.
|
there is nothing really wrong with +I as long as its used in the proper instances, on my irc network i only use +I to watch bots (ie: spambots, virii bots, etc) so i can watch them to see if i can see the owner come in so i can get rid of the bots. so it did have its proper use |

That's because .mp3 is a file format (and only a file format). If you mean copying of copyrighted songs and offering these for free download, say so.
And it is illegal to redistribute copyrighted material without permission in most countries, any way.

| I'm honestly not surprised to see this, concidering it isn't a new thing that Unreal IRCd gives far too much power to ircops. I'm all for being able to control your own network, but there is a such thing as too far, and there is a such thing as "too much power". That may sound crazy to some of you, but it's true. |

That may sound crazy to some of you, but it's true. | In a given context, any person with the ability to disrupt an experience for another person would be deemed too much power. In my opinion, George Bush has far too much power, but do you see me ragging on about him? So what if Unreal has more than a few ways to ban a user? So what if it has more usermodes and channelmodes supported under it? Its what the size of the power, its what you frikken well do with it.
I'm sick of people harping on the same old mantra saying "Unreal is for power trippers! Unreal is abusive!". For crying out loud people, get a clue, its not the software thats the problem, its the person operating it. |
