Hi,
Though this service has been operational for some time this is the first time we have announced it in public.
SwiftBL is a DNS blacklist primarily intended for use on IRC networks (of any size) to help prevent the increasing abuse of open proxies. The proxies listed in our database are obtained through several methods, however most originate from our custom proxyscanners - some of which scan on our network and some others that don't.
SwiftBL is similar to DroneBL - in fact we sometimes share our data with dronebl for the benefit of the irc community - but tends to be more effective with open proxies on irc networks as opposed to other forms of malicious clients (such as ddos bots).
We're not sure how many networks are using our blacklist at the moment (feedback from those that do is more than welcome) so we don't have any recommendations or support from networks, but if you are unsure as to whether it is reliable for use on your network then we urge you to set your scanning bots to report hits rather than act on them to see it in action for yourself.
Our website can be found at http://www.swiftbl.net where you will also find details on how to configure your BOPM to use it (the dnsbl zone is dnsbl.swiftbl.net)
Hopefully this will prove beneficial for any networks having trouble dealing with proxies on their network.

| If I remember right, didn't SwiftBL go down a while back for a day or so? I've had it in BOPM for a while now, and so far, out of the BL's I have enabled, I've only seen 8 confirmed hits with the BOPM on ShadowHime. |

You're probably referring to the Anoxs DNSBL which was discontinued about 6 months ago which is probably the reason why you haven't had many hits.
Some of our stats:
[escan] Uptime: 3 days, 06:19:46
[escan] DNSBL: 962 successful lookups from dnsbl.dronebl.org
[escan] DNSBL: 1009 successful lookups from dnsbl.swiftbl.net
[cksscan] Uptime: 11 weeks, 2 days, 03:03:26
[cksscan] DNSBL: 22099 successful lookups from dnsbl.swiftbl.net |

i've been using the swiftbl on my net for several months now, along with three other blacklists, and so far i haven't seen any false positives. it also single-handedly prevented a pissy little 20 bot clonesx attack. swiftbl gets my recommendation |

| ShadowHime hasn't been around for 6 months. =P But maybe I'm just imagining at the moment, I'd have to check my logs to see if it was possible SwiftBL was down for a while or not. (I've only had it in there for about 2 months probably) |
