If you honestly think that putting an IP or block of IPs in a firewall is going to prevent a DDoS then you honestly have no idea how DDoS works, do you?

A DDoS attack serves to fill up a connection with as much useless data as it can handle - doesn't matter if the router/machine at the downstream of that connection is dropping packets or not - if it can't drop the packets faster than they arrive then the DDoS will succeed.

too right freebsd has a auto block up to 200 packets/per/sec, but it will still cause a bottle neck futher up the line, plus they use multi-ipaddress which genarates different ip's.
Thats why i came up with a dead box while they are on that one , they will leave the others well alone ,they will ddos that box until it drops/crashes then it will just reboot it self to the next working drive,in all my years i never seen freebsd fail on 4 drives.

Is it typically better to go through that Internet Cyber Crime website, or actual local FBI? I wonder if they'd even know what IRC is and if they'd even check IRC.
