A DDoS attack serves to fill up a connection with as much useless data as it can handle - doesn't matter if the router/machine at the downstream of that connection is dropping packets or not - if it can't drop the packets faster than they arrive then the DDoS will succeed. |

too right freebsd has a auto block up to 200 packets/per/sec, but it will still cause a bottle neck futher up the line,plus they use multi-ipaddress which genarates different ip's.
Thats why i came up with a dead box while they are on that one , they will leave the others well alone ,they will ddos that box until it drops/crashes then it will just reboot it self to the next working drive,in all my years i never seen freebsd fail on 4 drives. |
